At sea
Wavering earth
above sea level
the swells
squeezed by the boat's
journey
the movement
taller than the line of sight
out at sea
I've marveled at the distant blue
more than once
the depth
that penetrates
the powerless pallor of words
when tiny transparent droplets
swoop into my arms
the impact
of being struck by insignificance
instantly smashes
my strength
no kind of wetness
can be this drenching
i'm glad i didn't dodge
standing between
the sky and the sea
i open my arms
amidst the rocking
i embrace
the wind
the waves
the breakage
at least
i just can't choose
just one life
about confinement
misunderstanding
delusion
feeble ineffectual
explanations.
